Strengths [of Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine]: The nurses are compassionate. Weaknesses: Dr. Blohm's attitude and bedside manner are the pits. Do your own research because your not going to get support from him...After the failure of our IVF process, he came to deliver the news while I was lying on the bed, by myself. My husband was in the waiting area and he gave me the news still recovering. I felt like I was rushed and he should have been more compassionte in his delivery. I'm a big girl and can take almost anything, but to tell me my eggs are poor and there's probably no chance I'll ever get pregnant was hard. The experience with him was quite gruelling. I will not going back to him even though he supposedly is the best here in Savannah. Not again!

Describe your experience with Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Strengths: The nurses are compassionte. Weaknesses: Dr. Blohm's attitude and bedside manner are the pits. Do your own research because your not going to get support from him.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Mainly, because of his bedside manner. He was way too blunt and seemed more concerned with the outcome than me as a person. Yes I realize the outcome is important, but the time, money, and how I was treated during these procedures is important too.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The saving grace for Dr. Blohm's practice is his nurses. They were wonderful.
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm?
He kept telling me "you were dealt a bad hand of cards " at every visit. It was frustrating because I know my problem, I need him to help me fix it or give me an answer in a compassionate way to help me. I was unhappy with his annoyed bedside manner and his gruffness. I did nothing wrong. I felt as though I was in the military, with his direct dry answers. I not in the military and I felt like a new recruit. I am woman who has a medical condition and I expect a level of concern and comfort for my well-being. After the failure of our IVF process, he came to deliver the news while I was lying on the bed, by myself. Not again!
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm?
Be prepared to have a thick skin.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles and their degree of success.
He had given me quite the dose of drugs. Follostim each day Menopur that started after the follicles were stimulated Ganarellix Progesterone injections Doxycycline - which made me sick and he told that was normal and to keep taking it... I felt as though I was having an allergic reaction. When I asked for pain meds, because I had just had surgery, he made it sound like I shouldn't be in pain and I was just asking for drugs. I didn't ask him for a narcotic, he just assumed I wanted one. I wanted the pain to go away. I was in pain, I wanted him to tell me what to do.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm.
I don't remember. My insurance covered the IVF-about half of the expenses. I know the meds were expensive.

Nurses keep this place [GA CRM] going. Had it not been Whitney and Dr. Blohm's wife, Caroline, I would have had a mental breakdown...He's [Dr. Blohm] very good at what he does but understand he does not have the latest technology in terms of testing and embryology lab...$11,000 for IVF plus drugs $1800 FET...His strategies seem very textbook. I don't think he's very outside of the box...He's kind of old school, but does get babies. Prepare yourself for abruptness and his frankness.

Describe your experience with Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
He's very good at what he does but understand he does not have the latest technology in terms of testing and embryology lab. He's kind of old school, but does get babies. Prepare yourself for abruptness and his frankness.
During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
Dr. Blown is there to get you pregnant, yes. He lives and breathes fertility. However some follicle checks he wouldn't even speak to me. Being completely hormonal didn't help but at least say good morning.
Describe your experience with your nurse.
Nurses keep this place going. Had it not been Whitney and Dr. Blohm's wife, Caroline, I would have had a mental breakdown.
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm?
Dr. Blohm has had success with my friends, but we did not. I didn't even see him on my egg retrieval day but he must have seen me! We ended up with a second trimester loss. I went for reconsult and he didn't even seem to care.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm?
Don't expect any bedside manner. Expect tough love. At age 33, he told me my eggs were getting old, even though we were male factor. Prepare your heart to take a beating from his abruptness. Some of my friends like his frankness. I don't think it was for me.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles and their degree of success.
We use lupron and hcg trigger. Normal protocol. I produced 23 embryos and 6 blasts. But no blasts made a baby. Very sad. His strategies seem very textbook. I don't think he's very outside of the box.

Doctors visits, medications and donor sperm cost me approximately $4000 per month [at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine]....I found everyone on the staff of the clinic to be so friendly and compassionate. The clinic was clean and well organized. I highly recommend it...If you need someone to hold your hand and to tell you that everything will work out, Dr Blohm is not the doctor for you. However, if you want someone who is knowledgeable and will tell you the truth, he is the best.

During treatment, did you feel like you were treated like a number or a human?
I felt like a human because I was treated with respect. The office staff and the doctor were so nice.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The nurses were friendly, knowledgeable and answered questions without hesitation.
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm?
Dr Blohm is very honest and straight forward. He doesn't sugarcoat things. He may not have the best bedside manner but I always knew what to expect and he kept me well informed of everything.
What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm?
If you need someone to hold your hand and to tell you that everything will work out, Dr Blohm is not the doctor for you. However, if you want someone who is knowledgeable and will tell you the truth, he is the best.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles and their degree of success.
I had a low ovarian reserve, so IUI with fertility medication was the best option for me, especially considering my age and the fact I was using donor sperm. We started on low dosages the first month but they were adjusted for the second month since the first attempt wasn't successful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm.
Doctors visits, medications and donor sperm cost me approximately $4000 per month.

[GA Center for Reproductive Medicine] Forgot to call with husband semen analysis...He [Dr. Blohm] gives a military discount so we are expecting 11-12k for IVF...Strengths: [Dr. Blohm] he knows what he's doing. He's aggressive with treatment. He doesn't sugarcoat. Weaknesses: very blunt, can come off as cold or uncaring. Very rigid in his treatment plans. Has a lot of patients so tends to run fast. You have to make sure to ask specific questions

What one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm?
He is blunt but look past that. He isn't rude, just a scientist. He is good at what he does and he's a perfectionist. In the end, his success rates prove he knows what he's doing. I go to him to get results, not have some dr sugarcoat everything
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles and their degree of success.
Three rounds of follistim with timed intercourse. 1st round I ovulated too early so he added Lupron to prevent that. Ovulated when supposed to 2 & 3 round but no pregnancy. I have pcos but no structural issues. Due to age 34 and long history of infertility, he moved us on to IVF which we start August 30th
Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm.
Everything covered by tricare except IVF He gives a military discount so we are expecting 11-12k for IVF
